ELWA back on the air!
« on: December 21, 2013, 1708 UTC »
Per Dave Valko tip in Cumbre DX, ELWA 4760 is prepping to come back on the air.  Heard past 0700 w/ clear ID.

Sez they are testing 5:30-10:00 AM and 5:00-10:00 PM Liberia time.   Will start regular broadcasts on 1 January.

Great news, and thanks Dave!

Anyone else (aside from Valko) hearing this? There is the faintest whisper of a carrier on 4760 at 1915 but it could be anything really! Can't get anything on the remotes either, although there is a faint carrier occasionally on the Twente rx as well.

Was heard yesterday in Kiev with only portable RX and whip antenna in park near my workplace! However, too weak to recognize any ID or even language.

Radio ELWA (tentatively)
Reception with telescopic antenna. Sorry for the high level of industrial QRM:

Excellent reception last night here in Tennessee when I tuned in at 0543 UTC. Also it is nice this frequency isn't covered by CODAR.
