I have been feverishly adding my airchecks of various MW /SW stations I have recorded over the year. Some are from online SDRs, and some are recorded with my own receivers.

The biggest reason I record these stations is, I would reckon, fairly obvious. Many of these stations might not be on in ten years, so from a purely historical perspective, these recordings may be the only ones of the stations I have recorded. For instance, I recorded a 45 minute aircheck of WDAS-AM 1480 Smooth Jazz in philly. It is very well the most comprehensive recording of a station (sadly) no one tunes in to. There is a recording I made of a rare brasillian SW station called "Radio Mosoj Chaski".

There is also a large folder of all the known North Korean SWs, both their stations and jammers. I hope you check it out and remember to record the stations in your area as well! Take a day and get a tape recorded or audacity and just record 15 mins of the MW stations in your area. They might not be on in ten years, and you'll very well might regret not having those recordings.
