Two catches last nite...

Caught India, worth reporting, evening of 22nd., 2300gmt., 13.605 (in usb mode for best reception) clearly recognized distinctive Indian accent (you know, like Sanji's of PIR), also typical Indian traditional music; signal was weak with rapid but shallow fading. Also Turkey @ 0300-0400 23rd.  with a very strong signal on 9.515.

Was also listening to AIR on 13605 last night around that time and they had a solid S7 signal.

Yeah, my "guess" is the signal hops over the N. Pole and rains down on N. American Continent. Later in the winter months 9.425 intended for the whole of India comes in too. Other signals intended for Europe, Asia, Oceania/Australia are hit/miss, w. xmit.s intended for Europe best bet.

Also have been listening to AIR on 11620 and not as good as 13605.

Turkey on 9515 has been fine, but not the greatest signal. Strong enough for casual listening.

In 2002-2003 I heard Indian stations behind Chinese regional ones, mostly on the 41 and 31 meter bands.  Also would periodically catch the AIR station that was out of Madras, beaming towards Africa.  Somehow it would make it over here onto the West Coast.

Haven't heard India over the past year and a half.  Iran, yes, and some of the VOA outlets in Sri Lanka, yes -- but AIR? Nope.... :-(

You don't indicate what part of N. America you're located. I live in the N.W. Stuff from Australia, New Zealand, BBC intended for Asia, Egypt, Romania, China, Thailand (not lately) So. @ N. Korea, Iran all have made it here. I use www.primetimeshortwave.com then go to "SW schedule time sort". It was just updated, too.
India has two "National Channels" I have picked up in the past as I mentioned above. www.allindiaradio.gov.in then under/click "Profile" you'll see "Radio Network/Frequency Schedule". Good Luck!

I'm also in the PNW.  I also can get Australia and NZ fairly regularly, esp. during the evenings on 25 and 21 meters.  Chinese stations of all stripes of course pound in on 41 meters during the morning.  I also get NHK in Japanese fairly regularly.  India, not so much lately.  Might be that it's not on, or propagation just isn't in when I'm tuning the SW bands.
