Why it's ol' McGreevy himself! I wonder if he can hear the relay in his fern filled canyon in Marin County? I understand they used a 20 watt mil-surplus transmitter for this tx.

It's an old show, the copy is likely made from a tape of the same vintage. It's not going to be pristine audio. It almost sounds like it's an on air recording, not a studio copy like they get from an audiophile like the great Bram Stoker.

BTW, that was Radio Bob calling in from supposedly Atlanta. That voice was hard to mistake. Bob had good antennas, he could hear me fart during a tx.

I've got a decent copy on Smolinski's Kiwi w/ the 900 ft. loop. I'm going hit the head and log off the Kiwi.

This is where this came from: https://archive.org/details/KmudshortwaveMojavePhoneBoothBroadcast

That was uploaded by Steve himself, but it is broken up into several parts and poor quality. The version that is on the air right now came from here: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=PkWV7FZjc4c&pp=ygULS211ZCBtb2phdmU%3D

Lots of cool pictures in that archive.org upload, including that 20 watt TX. Steve is still around on HF as a ham, I’ve heard him once but didn’t get to talk to him.
