Poor windy needs a little love.

And a new battery.

I just checked a few SDRs and couldn't hear it. The western deserts are clouded over so Windy may have shut down.

Had to use an Arizona SDR to hear "A" on 2097.3 at this time of day http://kj7cat.com:8073/

No sign of Windy but the deserts are clouded over today.

No signal at all from Windy, either locally or on SDRs. The cloudy weather must have flattened the battery. Windy really needs to upsize its solar panel and battery. No one is going to suddenly find it if there is a 20 watt panel instead of a 5 watt panel  8)

this log is from 06:15 PST, lower outside temperature than last night and the lowest I've yet seen. The battery is a bit lower but still healthy given that it is running about 14 hours without a solar recharge.

4095.670 KHz  Desert Whooper. S9+ signal on KFS SE kiwi SDR,  BAT 12.7  OTMP 36  ITMP 43   PV 0

this log is from 08:32 PST and the battery appears to be fully charged.

Thanks for the logs! They're a good reminder for me to see if I can once again hear at home the beacons in the 7 & 8 MHz range. Summer reception is usually poor.

As I recall your Inyo Whooper produced a "wide band" signal and nobody complained about it. That used to be one of my favorites to catch at home and I was sorry to see it go.

https://youtu.be/LKrQYG38KjA

The daytime only wideband noise maker on 6627 is yours also. You even named it "Gendarme" but the guy in NM must have given his blessing to it's blatant cacophony?

Besides, in November of 2020 you said you were quitting beacons altogether and bid farewell to the forum and beacons or something to that effect.
https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,74278.0.html

You even stated it as good that others were carrying the torch but now you and the NM guy voice disapproval of "blatant" beacons?

It is always funny to hear old dudes claim the "glory days are over" once they realize that they have been replaced by enthusiastic newbies. The newbies don't give a damn about gaining approval from any old timers.   ;D

It must be at the bottom of an ancient well, 50M deep in the middle of Mexico with a completely NVIS antenna  ;D ;D ;D

73's

Some beacons are hidden in just such a clever way! You never know when some angry person will attempt to locate and damage a pirate beacon, LOL!

Adding to the “H” chatter, “H” is heard regularly at DM12 and has been recorded regularly as it fades in between 1000Z and 1100Z very weakly each day since late September, conditions notwithstanding. Today at 1434Z, “H” peaked at 569 (sunrise at this location) and was gone at 1510Z. With that report, “H” seems to be becoming stronger as we proceed towards the winter months.

As I last reported in May of this year, I had first heard “H” in September of 2020, it became stronger during the winter months then either went off the air in spring or just drifted down into the QRN of summer, I suspect the latter. Although there is no Doppler on “H” during sunrise here, due to the signal behavior of “H”, I strongly suspect it to have an Asia Minor origin.

Receiver KiwiSDR
Ant: 80m dipole at 15m
location:  DM12

Ooooo.... that is a really interesting thought about the location of "H"
