On May 20, 2013, Manzarek died after a long battle with bile duct cancer, at a hospital in Rosenheim, Germany, aged 74. He was surrounded by his wife, Dorothy, his son, Pablo, and three grand-children.[11]

A couple of days before Manzarek's death, I happened to run across an interview with Robby Krieger on NPR while scanning the FM dial.

Robby didn't have many good things to say about Ray. He felt that Manzarek had exploited the mythos that sprung up around Jim Morrison's life in the wake of Morrison's death, with Ray as the official spokesperson,to make a nice living for himself.

You could hear the anger in Krieger's voice every time Manzarek was mentioned.
