Captain Ron Shortwave - Night of the Long Wire 6925
« on: September 06, 2011, 0254 UTC »
9/6/11, 6925 USB, 0250z: Heard music from what sounded like vocalist for Rage Against the Machine, Voice of Captain Ron Shortwave ID and "Night of the Long Wire", into more music (don't recognize it).
0335z: Captain Ron ID, playing Metallica, mentions of Labor Day show so presumably live.
0338z: Sounds like System of a Down - don't recognize song but they have a distinctive style and sound.
0345z: Off or completely faded out here after another ID.
SINPO=32433, fair to good signal here but battling heavy local RFI.  Captain Ron's on-mic bits easier to copy than music.

Barely audible here in Seattle as I type this at 0318 hrs.

It's probably a weak but intelligible signal if one gets away from all the urban RF crud.

Glad to see the Cap'n is still broadcasting. I wonder if he ever moved out of that box next to Old Man Fansome's trailer?
