Common SSTV Freqs?
« on: November 15, 2022, 1026 UTC »
Anyone know of the common SSTV freqs these days? I googled it and I've been tuning around to those freqs for a couple weeks now and I have not found anything. I thought maybe the gentleman's freq agreements have changed since those lists were posted to the interwebz.

Thanks.

Leave your decoder on 14230 kHz during the daytime. You should be able to decode many SSTV images from amateur radio operators on that frequency.

Songs are identified with Shazam if needed. I usually use KiwiSDR receivers. Reception from my QTH is using a Hermes Lite 2 with a 40 meter band Inverted V at 40 feet.

I'll park it there and see what I come up with. I love this mode. Got back into it with the ISS SSTV events and the pirates who are gracious enough to use SSTV in their broadcasts.

When 11m DX is hopping, particularly from Europe, you might also try 27700. It is a popular SSTV hangout for freebanders.

Chris has pages here for both frequencies:

https://www.hfunderground.com/sstv_pics/ (sometimes it serves 43m pirate decodes instead)

About 11m, many freebanders use country code prefixes:
