Hi everybody. I'm Andy, I've been a long time lurker and this is my first post. Some of you might recognize me from the Discord where I've been asking obvious and elementary level questions about radio lately
This broadcast has been driving me crazy since I first heard it a few weeks ago so tonight I decided to dig in a little. I transcribed the numbers from Skipmuck's recording and translated them into English. I'll attach that below. Here is what I've found:
1. The numbers are Hawaiian, and are 1-10.
2. There are 100 numbers exactly. Very convenient for a 10x10 grid (see link).
3. After 100 numbers, the voice repeats a word that sounds like "hanahome" or "hanahom" three times, then repeats the number string all over again. Google Translate is translating "hanahome" from Hawaiian to English as "homework"- after transcribing and translating the number string that feels fitting to me. Alternatively, "hanahom" is "job," and "hana" is "work." Transcribing Hawaiian by ear into Google is obviously an error prone method so take all those translations with a grain of salt.
This feels to me like a pirate having some fun. Maybe some HAM playing a puzzle game with friends? I'm new to HF, terrible at puzzles, and quite frankly pretty stupid with numbers in general, but who knows? If it's a gag maybe it has a gag message hidden in there somewhere..
EDIT: I guess I'm not sure how to post pictures yet, but the table is at this link!
