The Mighty KBC, 7375kHz, 0000Z+
« on: March 10, 2013, 0010 UTC »
I missed the KBC broadcast last week (darnit!) as life intervened.  I wasn't missing it this time if I could help it.  Tuned to the proper frequency a few minutes early.  At 2359 or so, the transmitter came on loud and clear, and at 0000?  Boom!  Excellent audio into Madison, SIO 545.  Absolutely beautiful armchair copy here.  I'm thrilled!  I despaired of ever hearing this station this clearly on 9450 again.  7375 has done the trick!  Or maybe it's Nauen... both?  Something's worked in KBC's favor, anyway.  :)

Wide-ranging musical styles, IDs, and chat from Eric who still sounds lovely *coughs!* You didn't hear me say that! :P  Time check at 0009, then into some blues rock.

Off topic, you're in Oshkosh? :D!  I grew up a half hour from there!  Now happily in Madison, but I still have family up that way.

Yup, I have lived here for a year and 6 months. Moved from Chicago (hated it there) and I love it here. Small word ;) Haven't been to Madison yet.

I listened last week and the signal was mediocre (far less than what the Voice of Croatia used to do on the same freq/xmtr). Other reports of the signal to various places around the U.S. was that it was nice & strong.

It was definitely up to Croatia's strength this week.  Maybe propagation was iffy last week?  Then again, if reports from around the States said it was strong... hmm.  Anyway, this week it was booming!
