4095.89   KHz  Viking fading in and out
4096.370 KHz  Haystack about 10 dB above the noise

Heavy clouds and light rain this morning

2097.310 KHz  letter beacon A, 15 dB over the noise then fading deeply once in a while

7039.400 KHz  Russian letter beacon M, weak but readable. Not heard in a while!

late posting for the morning of 10-21-16

I was located near the hot springs of Saline Valley in Death Valley

4095.895 KHz  Viking, good signal and a coiple of days later I drove to its location
4096.087 KHz  Hexie? have to double check my notes
4096.375 KHz  Haystack

6626.2    KHZ  Rocky
6626.3    KHz  Rainy
6626.425 KHz  Ditter?
6700.540 KHz  Hexie2K

Have you tried to hear Stumpy yet?  7000.65 kHz or so, varies slightly in freq over the day.  Very short dit every 22 seconds.  In the areas you were in it should have been pretty clear.

One of these times you come up to the high desert drop me a line before you do, maybe we can put a face to a name.

I did not know about Stumpy and it looks as if the beacon list has been updated a lot since I printed a copy a while back.

Will definitely keep you in mind when I run out that way for another radio expedition.

3454.600 KHz  unknown. seems to be a pattern but I've not had the patience to examine it closely. Weak but readable here in Orange Co.

1982.990 KHz  BFL4  drift net beacon, sends ID in CW then a long dash, repeats two more times

from start of one sequence of three to start of next sequence of three is four minutes
