Latin American pirates
« on: October 25, 2017, 2339 UTC »
Posted here as they're not proper "logs" of individual stations..

I *may* have R. Triunfal Evangélica de Chile on 5824.913 kHz, very weak, just a carrier. RCW in Chile told me this station was on the air now (2327z) so I decided to check.

RCW was on earlier, around 2310, again with a weak carrier heard here on 6925.113. Also a weak carrier from Lupo Radio on 6973.030, no audio tonight from Lupo although they were SIO 333 at times last night.

Update: and now at 2343 some music from Lupo Radio on 6973.

Do we need to add a Latin America pirate loggings forum to the HFU?  :)

You might want to wait to see if this opening is seasonal or if it holds up over the long term? You could put it up to use as a gauge of that, too. Heck, it's your board, do what you want.

Checking back through the logs, it looks like RCW has been received back to 17 Nov 2015, and there is a 2013 logging that looks suspiciously like Lupo Radio, I send him an email to ask if he was on the air back then. Those logs, plus Radio Pirana, show that Latin American pirates can be heard here in the US. I think previously we were not aware of what we were hearing, and chalking it up to another random weak US pirate. Thus I've created a Latin American Pirate forum.  My rationale in separating these logs is to make them more obvious, so others will try to hear them, and make it easier for those doing so.

Can an Antarctic Pirate forum be far behind? I hear Fansome is working on weaponizing Penguins for clandestine radio purposes.

Careful Chris, he's gone to ground since my subtle attempts to prod him down the aisle with those identical twin cousins he's dating. Bringing penguins into the mix are liable to send him over the edge. You don't want "Fanbot3000" unleashed in it's full fury in the chatrooms again.
