UnId 6930.4
« on: November 12, 2011, 0242 UTC »
UnId (so far), 6930.4 AM, 0235+, 11.12.11.  Instrumental, brief morse code (I missed it), announcement (too far in the static), hard rock vocal.

Just at the static floor.

0300 - another ID that I couldn't make out (arrgh) just before ToH.

0305 - "NRS" repeated in Morse code several times. (including once slowly - Thanks)

I've not heard an Id yet but it is in the noise here in AZ as well, every so often it peaks up enough to be moderately describable . I'm hearing what sounds like Geddy Lee peaking through the noise, so I'm guessing a Rush tune, but not sure which.

Just caught the id of Northern Relay Service. Not sure what they are relaying, however signal and noise have both improved here in the last couple of minutes.

Never been able to pull NRS or RTN out of the static.  They both must be in western part of the Great White North.  Only indoor antenna here, but ridiculously high noise levels the past week and more sure don't help, either.  :'(

 8) Yeah they must be because I usually have the most success with these guys. It's great here tonight, I've got RTN on one vfo and NRS on the other!

Most times & frequencies posted are only an approximation.

Northern Relay Service 6930 AM
« Reply #7 on: November 12, 2011, 0409 UTC »
Presumably this is Northern Relay Service, based on NRS CW ID's.
11/12/11, 6930 AM, 0400z: Lots of fades and heavy local RFI, only able to copy bits and pieces, something about "New World Order", "Dealey Plaza", sounds like audio collage of various sources - news, documentaries, commentaries.  Audio quality seems good during peaks, but fluttering fades making it difficult to copy more than a word or two at a time.
0412z: Clear voice ID for Northern Relay Service, sounds like Doc John's voice, with background music, recommendations to log to HF Underground... still lots of fades, not sure if I caught everything during that interval.  "We'll Meet Again" song from Dr. Strangelove.  Then off.

Thanks for show, signal was just starting to pick up here around 0400z, so conditions seem to be okay here.
