Zanahorias en Escabeche is the only Mexican shortwave pirate. It plays music including Mexican Crooning, Mariachi Music, Narcocorridos, and Mexican Pop Music. Voice identifications are by two male voices and one female, along with morse code (all repeated many times). Full identification is "Radio Independente, Radio Libre, Este es Zanahorias en Escabeche". There has been some doubt about it being located in Mexico but propagation seems to confirm the Mexican location. It has been heard five times, first in Novemebr 2020. It has used several frequencies in the 43 meter band, always offset and in AM mode. Broadcasts are usually a few hours long. Very little is known about the station and no contact information is available. [[Category: Pirate radio stations]]
