Bewbs666:

LAD, also known as Voice of the Night, was a shortwave pirate active in the early 90s. His real name was Lance Duff, and he was apparently a teenager at the time. He became infamous for jamming other pirates, broadcasting material insulting to pirates and DXers, and making a general pest of himself on the air and at pirate radio gatherings. Eventually the [[FCC]] caught up with him, and he was [[bust]]ed. His parents sent him away to military school, and thus ended his pirate career. Later reports indicated that he finally ended up in prison, on charges unrelated to his pirate activities.

[[Category:Pirate radio stations]]

LAD was actually his initials. I caught him once jamming another very weak [[RFM]] broadcast with a very strong signal. I sent him a QSL request and he called my house and asked me if I could drive him from his home to DC to buy some LSD. He used his father's very strong HAM set to broadcast.
