Galei Zahal - Israel Defence Forces Radio, was a broadcast station operating out of Israel. It played a variety of material, including popular music. It was occasionally heard on 6973 AM, where it was often mistaken for a pirate. Occasionally it would drift off frequency, and had been observed operating on 6970 at times.
