WANK is a North American shortwave pirate. It first appeared in May 2022 and continues to be active as of July 2022. The full station identification is believed to be "WANK-The Anchor". The identification was a source of confusion at first because it was not clear if it was "The Anchor" or "The Wanker". Eventually the station played songs that include "Anchor" in the title leading to the conclusion the the identification is "The Anchor". Broadcasts are exclusively on 6925 kHz USB. Programming is highly variable and has included music, old off air recordings, fake ads, and old time radio programing. WANK has never provided any contact method for QSL's and has never acknowledged listeners on the HFU.
