KU4A has been listening to the radio since the 1960s. "KU4A" is his FCC-issued amateur radio callsign. Born in Columbus, Ohio in 1955, he has listened and transmitted from Lexington, Kentucky since 1977.

His interests include all types of monitoring and DXing on medium wave, HF, VHF and UHF. He logs all types of utility communications and broadcasting.

His amateur activities include CW, voice and digital modes on virtually all the amateur bands. Operating interests include ragchewing, DXing and contesting.

He is one of the founding members of the Fayette Amateur Radio Transmitting Society (FARTS).

He can often be found in the #wunclub, #pirateradio and #mwdx rooms on Starchat.

He proudly owns a Kaito KA1102 and Degen DE1103 among numerous other radios.
