Radio Pushka is a shortwave pirate from the western USA. It mostly plays modern Russian music (often Techno). It originally bought air time on Channel 292 in 2016. It first started using it own shortwave transmitter in the USA in 2020. As of July 2022 broadcasts are usually on 6920 kHz in AM mode and are often very long (sometimes running all night and through the next day). They feature music and sometimes frequent station identifications. Some broadcasts feature no identifications. The station uses a Stretchyman transmitter with an amplifier but often has difficulty driving the amplifier with the low power transmitter. It often also has difficulty setting up a suitable antenna. At times it has experimented with operating 24/7 on the 11 meter band. In addition to shortwave, it also operates on FM. It is frequently off the air with technical difficulties. Power has ranged from 15 watts to 200 watts. The operator last announced that Radio Pushka is using 15 watts in March 2022 but it is unknown if power has been increased since then.
