A relay occurs when one pirate transmits a program produced by another pirate or other type of radio station. This may be because the producer does not have his own transmitter, but there are also pirates that produce material both for relay, as well as for transmission by their own stations. By the same token, some pirates may concentrate on relaying other pirates' shows, but others may broadcast both relayed shows as well as their own. An example of a pirate that focused mainly on relays was Crazy Elmo's Relay World.
