Solar Centric is a North American shortwave pirate active very sporadically since January 2015. It mainly focuses on unusual talk programs (stories, both fiction and non-fiction) but occasionally plays music. The host is Dr. Evan Alexander and he claims the station uses a 1000 watt homebrew transmitter in the Pacific Ocean. The actual power is seen on one QSL and it is 5 watts. It uses offset frequencies in the 43 meter band in AM mode. While almost certainly not broadcasting from the Ocean, Solar Centric is located on the West Coast of North America. Broadcasts are often around the Solstice. Solar Centric does sometimes QSL by both email and postal, but contact information is not currently public.
