KEAK (The Spider) is a North American shortwave pirate active in late January and early February 2023. It first appeared on 6930v AM with a badly FMing signal. It soon after appeared on 6915 AM with a stable signal. The transmitter is also now stable on 6929.82 kHz when used on that frequency. All broadcasts have been short and appear to be tests. Identifications are by Scottie 1 SSTV and were first "Eak Spider" and later changed to KEAK The Spider. One listener reported receiving an SSTV that claimed a power of 6 watts but a decode of this has not been seen by anyone else.
