WRVA 1140 kHz AM - is a clear channel (Class A) mediumwave (AM broadcast band) broadcast station located in Richmond, VA. The transmitter antenna is located southeast of downtown Richmond in a low-lying area near the James River, which allows for excellent ground conductivity. WRVA operates on 1140 kHz with 50,000 watts (50 kW) of transmitter power and can easily be heard in the eastern half of the United States at night. WRVA operates a directional antenna 24 hours a day. WRVA's daytime signal covers a significant portion of central, eastern and southeastern Virginia as well.

WRVA's antenna also houses FM band station WRVQ (94.1 MHz FM). WRVQ-HD2 transmits the WRVA audio on the FM band (in HD radio digital mode) as well as via an analog FM translator station W241AP on 96.1 MHz FM, meaning WRVA is simulcasted on both HD radio on FM and analog FM in addition to the main AM signal in the Richmond, Virginia area.
