The Icom IC706 MkIIG is a popular, small, HF, VHF, UHF Tranceiver designed for Amatuer Radio use. Although it has general coverage receive capabilities, it is awkward to use for listening owing to its limited built-in filters and menu driven design. It makes a great transmitter for pirate broadcasting. It is easy to interface to audio equipment and comes ready to transmit down to 6900 Khz without modification.
