The Shortwave Listeners' Winterfest bills itself as the largest gathering of radio listeners in the world. It is held annually in the spring, in Kulpsville, Pennsylvania, near Philadelphia. In addition to those involved in "normal" radio pursuits, such as utility, broadcast, and scanner listening, it attracts a sizable contingent of Pirate Radio operators, DXers, and others interested in the hobby of Pirate Radio.
Winterfest is infamous for appearances by Bozo; according to some reports, he has been banned by the hotel that hosts the event on account of his lewd and disgusting behavior.
